Association is aimed at organizing Filipinos and other Asian groups (Burmese, Japanese, Nepali, Chinese) behind regional interests. Their activities raise cultural awareness about the country and region at local festivals and events. They also do fundraising for projects and aid that is sent back to the Philippines following disasters.
They offer internships and and projects for volunteering at low to high levels of involvement, such as staffing their booth at festivals, fundraising for projects, serving on their board, and helping to structure the constitution of the organization.
The Filipino-American Association of Iowa is currently searching for more partners inside the Philippines, but currently serves alongside Igorots- which is an organization that sends medical missions back to the Phillipines- providing both fundraising and volunteers for their medical projects.
